After weeks of sputtering, my Iiyama monitor has finally died. I was never completely happy with it, but I expected it to last longer than 4 years.
So now it’s decision time. Do I buy an Apple Cinema Display now and then buy a Power Mac in 10 months when I have to give back the G4? Or, do I buy a new G5 iMac now instead of in 10 months as I’d originally planned? An iMac doesn’t have any video input so I can’t use it as a monitor for the G4 or my other PCs, which is what I need right now. But buying a Power Mac is going to put some serious strain on the ol’ wallet.
