In what was perhaps television’s worst kept secret, Ken Jennings lost his 75th Jeopardy game to Nancy Zerg.
It’s unfortunate that Jason Kottke spilled the beans back in September, because half the fun early in Ken’s run was the anticipation of when, if ever, he’d finally be beaten. Instead, his final appearance had the feel of a series finale like M*A*S*H or Cheers. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if people held “Final Final Jeopardy” parties last night. All that’s left now for Ken is the talk show circuit and “reunion appearances” on Jeopordy Tournament of Champion shows.
